DNA Model Hunt in Salt Lake City on Dec. 5th

I've been fortunate to be able to partner with DNA on their first EVER model hunt! They chose to come to Salt Lake City because of all the beautiful people....of course. Hopefully it's one of many.

I'm helping promote the event as well. If you know anyone....anyone at ALL with that potential model look (see below for requirements), please have them come to this because it truly is the most unique model hunt/ open call that's ever come to SLC. Meaning, no fee's EVER attached which is unheard of in Utah because of all the model scams. DNA is 100% legitimate and for any girl or guy wanting to model, this is the best opportunity for them to do so and not pay for unnecessary classes or photoshoots.

You can go to DNAModelSearch.com to find out more details.

Date: Dec. 5th
Location: Studio 600 at 26 East 600 South, SLC
Time: 11 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Requirements for attending
Girls: age 14-19
height 5.8-5.11

Erin Olson and Trudi Tapscott on KSL!

Since I started Echo Models in May, a lot has happened for me. I found some amazing models to represent, so amazing it caught the attention of some top agencies in NYC, one in particular, DNA Models (top 5 agency in the world). Once they saw my ability to scout, they immediately called and said they wanted to work with me. And when that call came in, I couldn't stop giggling for a week, a total dream come true.

Anyway, now I have a great relationship with DNA along with others in NY, and my models are going to go places, just wait and see.

Recently, Trudi Tapscott of DNA and I went on KSL's Studio 5 to talk about modeling scams. Here's the video. I thought it would be cool to post here for ya'll to see.

Hope you like it!

Erin Dugan Featured on "All About Models"

From the words of Samira from All About Models:

"Well, there is a new face, a realy new one with a touch of these unique look. Many new faces are just pretty.Other ones are very special and some, like Erin are very unique and fresh. Erin is from Salk Lake, it's small city in the United States. She was discovered by Echo Models . Echo models is a small, but very fine boutique agency in America, with many promising new faces. My first impression of this beauty is huge. Such a beautiful and symmetrical face shape, with a very strong gaze and such soft big eyes. Erin has beside her simply great looking, also very remarkable polaroids. Every single polaroid of her is different and unique. She has a great start with her 16 years, and her height of 174m. She's a girl that should be stayed in our minds. Take a look at Erin's polaroids."

Echo Models! New in SLC

It's about time but I finally started my own management company called Echo Models! Nothing big but I'm really excited about it. If you happen to come across any girls ages 13-20 who are over 5.9 and super thin (sorry, it's an industry standard) then send them my way in good conscience knowing that I don't sell modeling classes or photoshoots. I hand pick them, develop them and send them on to work in the biggest markets in the world (NY, Paris, London, Milan). It's mostly a hobby yes, but I'm so passionate about it which means my heart is in the best interest of the model and her family.

Wish me luck!!

Mod Cloth, You are going to LOVE this!!

I just came across this amazing clothing company called ModCloth. You are going to flip when you see how cute these dresses and skirts are. It's really one of the most unique online retailers I've EVER seen and surprisingly affordable too! So if you want to wear something that people are going to notice and ask where you bought it then check it out!! Here's a look at some of their styles:

Conference Street Style!

I don't want to turn my blog into all modesty all Mormon related content but I thought this would be a fun topic to write about. Many people who aren't LDS (Mormon) and even many who are sometimes think that Mormon girl's don't have good style. I'm going to make this a tradition at every LDS Conference to prove that Mormon girls are not only modest but really stylish too. I actually had 1000's of girls to choose from but didn't have time. Here are just a few beauties I saw today.

Passion for Fashion in UV Magazine!

Former international model Erin Olson sheds light on the true marks of beauty

Erin Olson has modeling down to a tee. She’s worked in the industry from all of its angles —
including strutting her stuff on the catwalk, styling models for photo shoots and even trying her hand at designing clothes. Now, as founder of ShapeCandy, a girls-only style camp, Erin teaches girls what it takes to be truly beautiful. She’s also director of Pulse Model Management, where Erin finds beautiful people and helps them make it in the modeling world.

These are the girls I found in Utah County to help me with the photoshoot. They're all high school girls and totally fun to work with !! Thanks girls! I'm on the right. And of course the wonderful photographer...Emilie Decker of Photo By Emilie, my great friend from high school. She did a great job!!!

Wear The Stripes!

You've been persuaded not to wear horizontal stripes because they say it makes you look bigger than you are, but you LOVE stripes....all kinds of stripes! Have I got the look for you. This dress from French Connection gives an interesting illusion. You can see that because it has a different set of stripes down the middle, it would actually make you look thinner. If you're going shopping soon, look for this type of look and get away with it! Or just click here to buy it from French Connection.

Mom Pant Special!

I went to the zoo the other day with my husband and kids on a very special day. It was "mom pants day", okay so maybe it was just "free day" at the zoo (which is why I went of course) and every mom in town was there. I saw a plethora of mom pants and so I couldn't resist but bring back one of the classic styles to life again. Especially the classic SNL mom pant commercial! By the way, in case you're one of those who think that if you don't wear this style the only alternative is to wear low-rider pants, think again and see below.

And of course, the pictures of the day!

The Grand Finale:

Mom Pant Definition: Too high, too tight makes the bum look big
Suggestion's for those of us with the mom pant problem, here's how to wear pants:

1. Buy stretch
2. Get pants with back pockets not too high and not too low.
3. Wear dark colors
4. Don't wear heavy stitching or decorations on the backside.

The best pant/jean out there is by far the Lucky Brand Rider jeans for about $89 at Macy's. Get em' you'll love em'.
This is a really great site also for custom feel and designed jeans: Indi Denim or click the picture below.

Scarves, Scarves, Scarves!

I know it looks kind of funny to see someone wearing a scarf in the summertime. We're thinking, "Why would you want to have something around your neck in this weather?" Well, regardless of how hot we may feel, it's one of those fashion trends that seems to be sticking no matter what the weather. And, I actually LOVE this trend for the same reason I love accessorizing and layering during the winter. So, I'm going to fall victim to this trend yet again and buy some really cool scarves! One of the best places to buy in bulk is always Forever 21. Here are some of my favorites! Click on a picture to go to Forever 21

Urban Outfitters Gets it Wrong!

I LOVE Urban Outfitters!!! The styles are always right on, the price point is great, and they have stores everywhere, plus an awesome online store. So when I went to buy a swimsuit online for this summer, I was really excited to see what new styles they were going to have. When I opened the swimsuit portion of the site, my eyes couldn't believe what they were seeing. They chose the WRONG model to wear these suits! She has no waist! How did such a big brand get it so wrong? Customers are going to be completely distracted and probably leave the site immediately. UGH!

I would rather see a bunch of models with different shapes and sizes and show the variety of swimsuits appropriate for their shape. But of course, no retailer does this. Wishful thinking I suppose. Here are the wrong suits for her shape and right suits below. This a great example of how to wear the suits if you happen to have no waist, so I thank them for that.

DON'T

Don't wear a small print with a low hip line.

Don't wear straight vertical stripes if your hips are already straight linesDon't wear a boy cut suitDO

Do wear a suit that makes the eye look to the middle and up.

Do wear embellishments in the upper middle portion of your body.
Do wear a higher hip line and a tri-colored suit that breaks the lines in the body.

High Fashion Climbing

Not very many people know that I rock climb. It's sort of my hobby away from fashion. Kind of funny actually, I'm known as "the girl who wears hoop earrings while she climbs". Who says you can be fashionable and climb at the same time?

What the heck, every one needs to brag once in a while right?

Here I am.
